Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) has signed a major contract with leading renewable energy provider Ørsted to provide the full temporary power solution, service technicians and both crew transfer and walk to work vessels, during the construction phase of the Hornsea Two offshore windfarm.
Located 89 km off the UK coast, the project will comprise of 165 SGRE 8.0-167 type turbines, giving a total capacity of 1.4 GW; on completion it will become the largest offshore wind farm in the world.
MRE Director Toby Mead commented “when the company was founded in 2013, we set our sights on becoming the leading provider of temporary power to the offshore wind market and to undertake multi-disciplined marine projects, such as this; we’ve been fortunate enough to work with Ørsted on several projects and we look forward to building on that solid relationship”.
