Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) was formed by directors Eric Briar, John Tye and Toby Mead in early 2014 and this month is celebrating their 5-year anniversary; in that time, they have become recognised for their knowledge and expertise in delivering temporary power and engineering solutions across the offshore renewables industry.
In 2016, following multiple successful projects across Europe, MRE commissioned the build of their first vessel, the Manor Venture, constructed by Manor Marine shipyard in Portland, Dorset.
In 2017, MRE acquired the Manor Marine shipyard in Portland, Dorset which has become the company headquarters; the acquisition of this 6000m² facility allows MRE to provide a full engineering capability from design to fabrication, a service that has elevated the company potential within offshore wind.
As projects move further offshore, temporary power will become increasingly vital to de-risk the construction phase; in line with this demand MRE has increased the overall company workforce and made several new additions to the senior management team.
With several temporary projects scheduled for 2019, a second vessel under construction at the Portland facility and the development of a full offshore engineering capability, the company goes from strength to strength.
