Crew Transfer Vessels, the MPI Cervantes and MPI Cardenio have been purchased from Offshore Support Vessels BV for an undisclosed sum by Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) Ltd.
Designed and built by South Boats in 2011 / 2012, the 17 metre vessels will be transported from Teesside to Portland in the coming 2 weeks, where they will be fully reconditioned.
In 2017 MRE built the Manor Venture, which is one of the largest CTVs currently operating within the offshore renewables market and towards the end of this month they commence on the build of her sister vessel, to be delivered in 2020.
MRE Managing Director Eric Briar commented ‘We have the capability at our Portland facility to build and / or refurb several vessels at a time; when these vessels were put up for sale we immediately saw the potential and once we strip them both down, totally re-engine and increase the overall length by 3 metres, we will basically own two brand new vessels in just over 8 weeks time”.
